Sports tournaments and outdoor adventures are integral parts of our community vision. Our students engage in spirited competitions against other International Schools including in football, golf, volleyball and mountain biking.
Team sports within the Beau Site are equally important for fostering a great spirit within the boarding house. Events such as the Icebreaker at the start of term, the recent School Challenge and the Juventus Soccer Training Camp promote teamwork and healthy competition.
Beyond the campus, Beau Site students embarked on exciting outdoor adventures, embracing the beauty of the Swiss Alps and nurturing a love for the great outdoors.
Our well-being activities feature weekly in-house Yoga sessions and termly spa visits, providing a serene escape and relaxation.
We also spend time with the school pets which include rabbits from the School Farm, not to mention the daily opportunities to walk our many school dogs!
Together, these activities promote holistic well-being, helping students recharge and find inner calm at Chalet Beau-Site.
M3 students went on an overnight expedition in Nax to challenge themselves on the via ferrata du Belvedère, successfully reaching the peak at 1224 m. After a fun night camping out in St Maurice, the team continued facing heights and developing resiliency with a rock climbing session in Saxon. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the beautiful weather!
Expedition MYP1
M1 students completed an overnight expedition in Pont de Nant involving various tasks such as a survival skill activity involving a plane crash scenario, making a shelter, fire, and searching for specific plants at the botanical garden. During the following day, they went on a beautiful hike along the Avançon river and enjoyed the vibrant autumn colours.
Still to come: MYP2's underground/overground expedition which will involve speleology (caving!) and a forest rope trail. Watch this space!
In this first half-term we have enjoyed a traditional fondue in our beautiful valley of Solalex, birthday parties, brunch and ... lovely dinners in the house, karaoke and let’s dance parties.
Our boarding activities for this year promise to be exhilarating and unforgettable. We have an exciting lineup that fosters camaraderie, adventure, and personal growth.
Highlights include thrilling trips to courage-testing treetop challenges, water fun activities on the majestic Lake Léman, bowling and many more to come.
We are very proud of all our students whose commitment to their academic studies and to taking on new challenges never ceases to amaze us. Every day, they are learning more and more, and growing into fanstic young people.
We are planning a spectacular double celebration in Summer 2023. This will mark the first graduation of our International Baccalaureate students. In addition, we will be celebrating the 76th anniversary of the founding of La Garenne.
All students will take part in the School Show and festivities on 16th and 17th June and you are cordially invited to attend. As this will be a very busy time, and accommodation in the village is limited, we recommend you to book your hotel stay now.
You can find a list of recommendations on our website here.
ACADEMICS
We are celebrating some great results in external examinations this term (DELF French & IELTS English). Some of our older students have also received excellent university offers from King’s, Durham, Bath, EHL and Bayes Business School.
These highly respected universities have very competitive entrance requirements. From January, most students will be preparing for Cambridge English and more DELF French exams. The students will have further presentations from visiting universities as well as the opportunity to tour Swiss universities nearby.
SPORTS
La Garenne has taken part in a large number of sports competitions such as Volleyball, Football, cross country and golf.
After the success of Juventus intensive soccer camp and bringing in a professional volleyball coach, we now want to extend masterclasses to other sports including table tennis and padel (tennis).

UPGRADING OUR FACILITIES
We would like to thank our generous parents who have allowed us to turn the top floor of Academia into a library and provided a large LED screen for our Community Floor. We are pleased to announce that we are also creating a new science lab for the middle school, refurbishing two music rooms and enhancing our school gym equipment.
